Conceived as a competition proposal, the project aims to reposition the National Museum of Romanian History as a contemporary cultural institution through a critical re-evaluation of its architectural identity and urban presence. The intervention proposes a redefinition of the relationship between the existing building and the city, enhancing spatial clarity and public accessibility while creating a coherent framework for the exhibition of historical collections. At the same time, the project envisions an upgrade of the museum’s cultural infrastructure, focusing on improved visitor experience, flexibility of use, and the integration of contemporary museum standards, without altering the symbolic value of the historic structure.
