PLAY

Interior Design

  • Location: Lotca
  • Year: 2023

The project proposes the interior design of a children’s cafe, conceived as a playful, welcoming space that stimulates curiosity, movement, and interaction. The existing curved floor plan already suggests a sense of playfulness and fluidity, becoming the starting point for a spatial concept rooted in softness, rhythm, and exploration.

Responding to this geometry, the design introduces a continuous perimeter storage system articulated through an arch motif. This element structures the space while reinforcing a child-friendly architectural language, transforming storage into a backdrop that frames the interior.

The bar and back bar, finished in soft shades of blue, visually enclose the space, acting as a central focal point while maintaining a gentle, approachable presence. Their rounded forms echo the roundness of the plan, contributing to a coherent spatial flow.

At the heart of the cafe, two custom-designed tables are shaped by open and closed curved geometries, encouraging playful circulation and spontaneous interaction. Their organic shapes invite children to move around, explore, and engage with the space intuitively.

Overall, the project translates the idea of play into architectural form, using curves, arches, and soft color palettes to create a joyful environment where functionality and imagination coexist. The result is a space that supports both social interaction and free movement, offering children a welcoming setting that feels both safe and stimulating.
